Dog Days of Summer

Chilling out with a snuggly little pug.

by Molly E. Weeks
22 June 2009

Now that the summer heat has hit Maryland full-force, my dog Oscar has very little interest in being outside. His poor little puggy face doesn’t allow him to breathe very easily as it is, and heat and humidity just make it worse.

Instead, we’ve been spending a lot of our days in fine form indoors — cuddling on the couch. There’s nothing my little cuddlepug likes better than to be curled up on his mom’s cushy lap.

So these days, you can find me happily sprawled out on my red couch, Oz snoring gently on top of me and gazing up at me with his bright gentle bug eyes, and all is right with the world.

This is exactly why I got a dog.

Note from the eds: In case you missed earlier installments in Molly’s chronicles of Oscar, here they are: Pug Love, All About Oscar, and Oscar vs. Buster.
