New Year, New Home

Packing, holiday revelry, and home-buying.

In just three short weeks, my husband and I managed to go to settlement on our new house, paint three entire rooms in one day, pack and unpack and haul our worldly possessions back and forth from our apartment, host a housewarming party, and still get totally unpacked and decorated for Christmas.

I’m still not sure how we got all of that done, aside from my crazed and single-minded determination to battle through the bulging boxes that threatened to take over our lives. (Poor Hubby. He didn’t know he had married a crazy organization freak.) It also helped that my parents pitched in like champs, especially the day that they showed up with a ladder and a reel of Christmas lights to decorate our house with.

For a while there, it seemed like the housework would never end, but of course it did, and just in time for the holidays. Now, as the festivities end and the new year begins, it’s finally time to kick back and enjoy our home — and the big, brand new, flat-screen TV that now resides there with us.
